Get your static site generated in 6 steps.
How do I generate my first static site?
- Enter your Ghost server URL (e.g.
https://yoursite.com). - Paste your Ghost Content API Key (Ghost Admin → Settings → Integrations → Add custom integration → copy Content API key).
- Enter Generated Domain (optional) — use if your static site lives on a different domain or subdomain.
- (Pro) Enable and configure your purchased modules in the wizard.
- Click through steps and configure features.
- Hit Generate Site → download or auto-deploy.
Does my Ghost site need to be accessible during generation?
Yes. Your Ghost server's API endpoint and frontend must be publicly accessible during generation. SnapStatic fetches content directly from your Ghost site to build the static output.
Should I regenerate my API key after generation?
The Content API key is read-only, so it's safe. However, regenerating it after generation is a good security practice. You can always create a new key in Ghost Admin → Integrations.
